We are actively engaged in a programme of research in order to further the study of archaeology and raise public awareness. This work combines traditional fieldwork techniques with experimental archaeology. A key priority of our research is to include those who may not be directly involved in archaeology but have a general interest in the subject. For this reason, a series of courses are integral to our projects and open to all. These range from weekend fieldwork trips in the winter and spring to 4 weeks of excavation and experimentation in the summer. We are currently involved in 2 very different research projects. 'The Defence of Winchester Project' is investigating the military and civil defences around Winchester in Hampshire, and 'The Cholderton Archaeological Project' is a new study which aims to examine the prehistoric culture of a site in Wessex through fieldwork and experimental archaeology. Further details on these projects and opportunities to help on both investigations is provided by clicking on the links opposite. For general enquiries on our research, please contact us by email, or speak to us directly using the numbers at the top of the page.
